Depends on your browser, assuming you're using internet explorer(which I assume you are since you're asking this question) then go tools, internet options, clear history.

To delete Autocomplete entries from the Address bar list

The AutoComplete feature saves previous entries you've made for Web addresses, forms, and passwords. To delete entries from the Address bar, you must clear your History folder. You cannot clear individual entries from the list of saved entries.

On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
Click the General tab.
Under History, click Clear History.

From IE, click Tools, Internet Options
delete cookies
delete files (offline files)
clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want)
click o.k.

Stop Autocomplete / Remove Passwords
Tools
Internet Options
Content
Autocomplete
cl Settings
clear the boxes to remove autocomplete
Delete Autocomplete History

When you power-on, history will be empty. As you surf, you build up a new history. You can delete this at any time by clicking Tools, Internet Options, clear history

I assume you are trying to clear your history.

You also need to clear:
History
Recently typed URLs
Last download location
Temporary internet files
Temporary files
Empty recycle bin
Media player playlists of recent movies played
Each toolbar history (Google , Yahoo, Etc.)
Cookies

CCleaner deletes all this automatically. It also has an option to overwrite the files when they are deleted so they can not be recovered.

http://www.ccleaner.com/
Do not install toolbar and recycle bin options
In options.
Uncheck "only delete files older than 48 hour" if needed
Select secure file deletion and number of overwrite passes if needed
Set to run (clean) when computer starts.
Place cookies you want to keep in save list

In addition any free file recovery program can recover these files after you delete them.

To make files that have been deleted but can still be recovered unrecoverable:

Install Restoration (free)
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,23108-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html

Start Restoration > on menu "Others" > Delete completely > Yes >Yes
Will run for about 6 hours.

Overwrites all deleted files making them non recoverable. Does not overwrite Windows files, Programs files, or any other files.
