I live with roommates and it's lots of odors from food, cooking and people lol. What would you use? lysol, glade or oust? Aerosol spray or plug-ins? What scent do you use? If you use something else, mention it please.

I live with chidren and pets.

This is our routine.

I have one of those window fans that will either blow on exhaust, or fresh air. I turn it to exhaust during the day, and to fresh air at night. I also open only ONE other windown in the house just a crack. When the fan is pulling, it literally pulls out the bad odors.

Vacumming with my awesome Dyson vacuum cleaner is wonderful.

Catboxes one is located below the fan that pulls out my odors.

THe plug ins are very helpful in high risk areas.

Febreeze and Oust are good for short term fix.

Also candles. Cucumber melon has been what I have found to be the most 'fresh'.

I use the glade carpet powder any time I vaccum! I personally use the berry scent during the spring and summer, if not a citrus scent! I also use febreeze on the furniture and anything that is cloth or absorbent. I burn Circle E Candles all of the time! Pretty much anytime I am going to be home for more than an hour, I light the candles! The good thing about Circle E is that the scent travels and spreads well, so you don't need to use a ton of them!
Another brand I like that works as well, if not better than Circle E, is MaddieClays. I found them at a local shop where I was visiting for the weekend and purchased one to try it! Since then, have fell in love with them! You can buy them on the internet at their website! www.maddieclays.com (or email me, I have the email address to place orders!) and Circle E candles can be purchased at their website and many stores all over! www.circlee.com!

I get compliments any time someone enters my home because it smells awesome! I have a husband who hunts and therefore an office that is full of his hunting gear and everything else, that smells no matter how much it gets cleaned! I also cook a big meal every night! And trust me, you'd never know it at all, because it always smells great! I change my scents based on the season and temp outside!

Also, a quick note, the carpet stuff, I only use like once a week or so! And the febreeze I try to spray ont eh furniture every night during my nightly "tidy up" before going to bed!

I vacuum every day since I have a dog indoors and I keep a few windows opened a bit. When I'm cooking I open them more and turn on a fan. Be sure to take out the trash every night so that you don't have those odors sticking around. I also like the reed diffusers, they are inexpensive and last a long time.

alot cheaper in the long run & prolly healthier too...try one both or all:
(if you use fans) tear a dryer sheet in 1/2 and just place it on the backside of the fan(s) or the a/c vents. or you can put cottonballs of scented oils in the air vents. citrus--lemon, orange, etc is the best because it neutralizes odors naturally & doesnt smell too perfum-ey.
if you need a quick fix that you wouldnt use often, go to the auto dept. @ wal-mart & get a big can of OZIUM. one can will last forever if you just remember how powerful it is before you fumigate the house.

If possible open windows, turn on fans, spray Febreze on furniture, curtains ect. Odors such as cooking ,smoking clings to everything, wash walls ,also Do not use carpets powers on carpet, the powders actually attract the odors and works in reverse.

Airwik scented oils plug-ins. "Harmonization" smells a bit masculine, great for a guys place. I also put a small pot full of water with 1 tbs baking soda and 1 tbs cinnamon, on the stove to simmer on low heat. the soda absorbs oders and the cinnamon releases fragrance.

even as there's a puppy twist of destiny, you ought to get it out -- way out. So regardless of you're using, soak and blot. Soak and blot back. Then lay dissimilar rags on it, lay something heavy on the rags and allow it stay that way in one day to take up all the moisture. My favourite product is Oxi-sparkling. I had 2 dogs and gentle beige carpeting. I continuously used this technique and there have been under no circumstances any seen stains on the carpet after many injuries. when I pulled up the carpet to interchange it (after 10 years) there develop into no staining on the back side of the carpet both. attempt it. it fairly works.

Ozium is a spray that is lighter than air, so it stays in the air and sanitizes it better than sprays that go on surfaces. I buy it by the case online to save money. It is a little pricey because it works.
