Oh yeah-- I balance it on the tracks way before the train is close.

When you live by the tracks, you know the schedule....

I did when I was a kid before I found out I could be arrested for doing this.. Oops... Kinda makes you think twice about smashing old Abe Lincoln doesn't it?

in the 1st or 2nd grade, straying beyond the schoolyard, we would eat rhubard pulled out of teh dirt and sometiems put pennies on the track and watch trains roll over them ... I remember that they were kinda hot from the squishing effect and incredibly smooth

No, I do it before hand and tape it to the track. No sense getting yourself killed just for a squished quarter.

When I was about 6 years old, a bunch of us used to do that with pennies - but even then, it soon got old. It was probably good training for Y!A today, (other than the always-entertaining P&S ). ;-)

Not since 5th grade. I liked to put small nails that were crossed much better. They came out looking like scissors.

Yeah, it's enjoyable. Sometimes I have to use a lil tape, though...those trains vibrate a lot.
