I had my first sonogram when I thought I was 20 weeks pregnant, and was then told that I was only 15 weeks. They gave me a due date of June 7. Then, I went in for another one a few weeks later, and they told me my due date was June 16. So, are these even accurate being done so late in pregnancy? My period says I'm due May 6. This is diving me nuts. When should I expect my baby to come??? Should I get a third sonogram? Would it do any good being this far along now? If I go into labor soon, what should I expect to happen to the baby? ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!

I am thinking my baby has already dropped. I'm HUGE. I don't have insurance, we are paying our midwife cash. So, it's not very easy to just find another dr, but I will if I really think I should. And I am questioning it....

The sonogram at 20/15 weeks would still be fairly accurate and they only get less so as the pergnancy progresses. I would put my money on May 23rd but plan to be pregnant until June 19th. If you go into labor soon, and the doctor wants to stall it or stop it, demand an amniocentesis first to see if the lungs are developed and remind him/her of the original due date. We go to doctors because they are educated and trained but you can't expect the doctor to remember everything about everybody and if he/she sees in the chart that your due date isn't for a month (or the nurses or another doctor see that) they will freak. Talk with your doctor at your next appointment about a plan if the baby comes in the next weeks. The little buggers start giving their parents a hard time in utero and never stop.

it depends on your situation. for example my son was born two weeks early and was over 9 lbs. they did a sonogram a month before that and thought be was ready to go. only after doing an amniocentisis and checking the development of his lungs were they able to tell how far along he really was. some babies are just larger and smaller than others. to me, the best way to tell how much longer the baby needs late in the pregnancy is having the amnio done.

Just so you know....sonogram duedates are accounted for by the babies SIZE AND DEVELOPEMENT. He/she could just be on the small size and developing a little slowly. Don't worry. The doctor wont let the baby get too big where you can deliver. They will know when to induce you, if you dont go into labor yourself.
I'd go by the date you have...after all you know when you had sex and when you didnt get your period. Add 40 wks to the date of your last period.....and baby will be ready around that time
Good luck!

The period is not accurate because you didn't get preggo, the day of your missed period....I would just be prepared after May 15 because you never know, I was due the 4th, then the 11th and I didn't have Madison until 22nd,

they might desire to have the means to tell you in case you have been to get yet another sonogram precisely how plenty toddler weighs and dud date. I basically had to get yet another completed Monday because of the fact my midwife thought my toddler became kinda small. nicely as of Monday i became precisely 36wks and he or she became measuring precisely 36 wks and weighs 6lbs9oz. My due date became precisely on additionally of what they initially advised me which became might twenty 8th. they might desire to have been in a position to tell you basically one due date whilst they did the sonogram rather of you having 3 diverse ones. the only way they might assure with regard to the toddler being mature adequate extraordinarily the lungs may well be an amniotecesis(sorry can no longer spell it nicely). Weight incredibly would not do is using the fact like I mentioned my daughter now weighs 6lbs9oz, yet an in depth pal introduced her toddler whilst she became 39wks and a couple of days and her daughter weighed 6lbs10oz, considering each toddler is diverse they might might desire to try this technique to make particular. good success & Congrats!!
