Yes.......I'm very shy, at first, and my shell is very hard, but if you could be very, very patient, like I am, you could get to know just what kinda turtle I really am. First of all, I want to describe, very simply, just one of my many, many talents. Here it is, true story.....I was actually able to cross that road, that road of life, the one that many others had such difficulty with, and some who died tryin'. Like Evil Knievel, who thought he could bypass the slow, tried and true method by jumping over the road...tisk, tisk, tisk. And the hare, oh my good friend the hare......you know the story....but back to mine, and thank you...for...your...patience.
(William Shatner, by the way, is one of MY heroes, but I..... digress.......)
So....here it is!! While crossing that road of life, I was able to avoid being run over by the truck of reality. You shoulda been there! It was exciting! The speed of life versus the persistence of the turtle(me) was intense, to say the least. Howard Cosell himself practically rolled over in his grave to be witness and once again perform his unique descriptive commentary of the play-by-play as it happened, ladies and gentleman.
The forward manuevers, the head popping in and out and in, and out, with such grace, and feeling, and exactness....eye winking, that one eye, winking, winking.......focused. Oh, my erect head, finally focused on it's destination, within sight, and what a feeling, crossing that road, the finish line!!!

I'll stick my neck out on this one. I would brag on and on and on about how spectacular my turtle impression is but it really wouldn't be fair to Norbert or George because, you see, I actually AM a turtle. Mind if I nibble on your tomato ;)

Once, I walked into one of those super pet stores...you know the ones I'm talking about, right? And I walked up to this guy with a vest on, he had a name tag....his name tag said *Hello, my name is Norbert*
So I said *Norbert....I need your help.....I'm looking for a pet for my children but I don't know what kind of pet to get for them*
So he asked me a few questions. Basic, in-general questions about their age and if I thought they were capable of handling the responsibility of having a pet....I answered his questions and told him yes, I thought they were quite capable of handling the myriad of responsibilities that come with caring for a pet, making that pet part of your family.
He suggested to me, that we get a turtle. I was enthralled. Estastic even. I had always dreamed of having a pet turtle named Jackson. (Besides the name Randy, Jackson is my favorite name ever) annnnyway.....so Norbert set me up with a cute little box turtle and all the necessities to take care of my dear Jackson.
I brought him home.....we loved him, squeezed him and called him George.......why George you ask? Because I thought he looked like a George instead of a Jackson.
Of course, I really should've named him Norbert....as now, everytime I think of our beloved Jackson/George....I think of Norbert and wonder what hes doing these days......is he happy? I'm certain he is.....Hes Norbert for goodness sake!
Turtle Turtle ") <------------looks like a turtle doesn't it???
;)
