I have very bushy eyebrows, to the point where I've heard some acquaintances refer to me as "the eyebrow guy." I shave the unibrow area, but nothing else. Should I try to do anything else, or are just leave them alone? What can I do without making the change blaringly obvious?

try it and see. My eyebrows are like yours and I used to trim them but haven't in a long while. They grow out in a few months if you want them back.
It's gonna be obvious, but so what? Most people will think about your eyebrows for about 6 seconds before moving on to more important things, like their own eyebrows. Anyone comments, you say, "yeah, I trimmed 'em...my girl says it's sexy..."

Since you have been refereed to as the "eyebrow guy" probably anything you do will be noticed. But that's OK!

Keeping the unibrow at bay is a good start - though I would suggest plucking or, if you can afford it, electrolysis. Stubble between your eye brows looks gross!

If you have some hairs that stick way out, trim them with scissors. And you have very wide eyebrows you can pluck or cut them. Just don't over pluck! You do not want girly-thin eyebrows.

Now at first I said whatever you did would be noticed. And you do it all at once you will likely hear, "Wow! what happened to your eyebrows.

But if pluck or cut a few at a time, others may not really notice. After several weeks some one mights say "Weren't your eyebrows bushier before?"

Good Luck!

My daughter is a hair stylist/cosmotologist and she has many male clients who come to her to 'fix' their unibrows. Some of them are very self conscience about having this done and some don't care who knows. But you should be able to find someone at any good salon that knows how to shape a man's brow. Let them do it gradually for you if you don't want a sudden change. But let me tell you, it can make all the difference in showing off how handsome you really can be. You'd probably be surprised at how many celebrities, male and female, have this done. The cost shouldn't be but maybe $10 - $20 depending on where you live and at what salon you have this done. Call around and ask about prices and also don't be afraid to ask about the person's experience with shaping a man's brow. Good for you!!! Go for it!!!

In your case I can see with having to shave to prevent unibrow that it would be appropriate to trim the rest of them. Now you have to be real careful not to overdo it. You could start by combing them and then trimming back random single hairs all over the eyebrow area. Do jsut a f ew at a time til you are happy. Alternatively go to a barber shop or mens hairdresser with a woman in there to help you out, we do this all the time, and have it down, it is no big deal to us.

I think it's totally okay for a guy to take care of his eyebrows. You may actually want to go to a salon and get some professional advice on how to trim them and pluck them so they look natural and still manly. Or you could just try combing them straight up and triming them. It really helps. I have a nine year old son with bushy brows and I always shave in between them and sometimes trim them! If they get any bushier he's going to have to start plucking! Poor kid!

Good move on shaving the "unibrow", as for the rest of it...hard to say without seeing it. Sounds like maybe I'd go to a salon and see what they can do. If you do anything yourself, don't take any off the top of your eyebrows, I've heard that it isn't good to do that.

Yes it is right for you to work on your eyebrows! I think it is great to take pride in your appearance. Waxing and plucking your eyebrows would keep the hair from growing back as fast as it does with shaving. You can go to most local salons and have them professionally waxed. Please don't be embarrassed for getting them waxed - believe me women really appreciate when men wax their brows. I think anything we do that makes us feel better about ourselves is a great thing.

definitely! i'm all for men keeping their eyebrows nice to look at.

do not shave them.

use tweezers to get the ones that are out of place, like the strays. use scissors to trim the ones that stick out from your face/brow bone.

i wouldn't wax them because it will look to feminine and unnatural for a male. BUT you can wax the center, the "unibrow". shaving will look bad and you will have to do it at least every other day. (no good)

good luck and don't get too tweezer happy. (you could always ask a girl friend to help you out)

its totally fine. get that unibrow out at the salon or something and if necessary clean up around the eyebrow as much as you think you need. plenty of guys do it and some are so obvious but i guess they don't care. haha.

In my opinion it is not any different than a man shaving. It is part of good grooming, and if it builds your self-esteem then go with it, and tell those "eyebrow guy" acquaintances to grow up! Name calling is really hurtful and immature.
