There are no other Colleges around here and I can't afford to move.

well, for one, it's a huge school. the classes are huge, the people are pretty uptight and i don't like feeling like a number.

the professors are good, but you just don't get any personal attention.

i think i'd be much better off at a smaller school...

I know the feeling, I'm in a similar situation at my school as well. It's rough especially when you find yourself unmotivated to do any studying or anything because you get miserable. You can try to transfer to a different school, i thought about it too but decided to stick it out where i am just because of the program i'm in and such. But what you can do is try to find a little organization or something that you can get into and spend a lot of time working with it it'll help distract you and maybe some good things can come from it. Another thing that helps is to find things in your day you enjoy doing like going to the park or something that gets you out and about and try to get your mind off of how much you dont like your university. Also if you have problems trying to concentrate on things like i do because of the dislike for where you're at go to the library, i hate to say it, i know it sounds cliche but it really did work for me, or find something like a little coffee shop, just somewhere to get away from things and take your mind off of it all. Good luck and I wish you well

do what you have to do to complete the current obligations at your current school, and then either move if you are able to transfer with a scholarship, or don't move

necessity will force you one way or the other...

there's almost always something you can do (in terms of loans, etc) to get money for school, so research those avenues! you shouldn't have to be in a school environment you hate!

but i understand about not wanting to be a number. that works for some people, but i would hate it too. i was at a lib arts school in college, so it was like heaven to me -- i was friends with my profs, had club picnics at their houses, holiday parties, etc, coffee shop meetings...
and now that i'm a grad student at a large research school, i can tell the difference -- i would have HATED being an undergrad in this situation. my needs have changed, though, and it works now.

do whatever must be done.

Just quit then, and go on a year's hiatus while working, reading, or just chilling.
