It is a college card used on campus to pay for meals...for instance...Dakota State University has a gold card to use for McDonalds, Taco Bell, and a lot of fast food places instead of cash

I've heard that it's a card given to celebrities so that they can get free food in the restaurants. It's a celebrity perk (usually given to famous people that younger people like, for example rock stars, BMX bikers, skaters, rappers) and it gets stars into the restaurants which is promotion for mcdonalds...it may be an urban legend, though!
