Good for her, she did an extremely brave thing. It is a move that could possibly cost her her life. Ignore Dr. House, she is ignorant. She painted this woman with the broad brush of the unintelligent. It is like someone saying all black women are fat and stupid which would be an ignorant statement just like the statement she made in her response
Be that as it may, the sad thing is that the rights Iranian women and moderates had regained under Khatami are being eroded by this current little twit with the "napoleon complex".

At the end of April, Iran began its crackdown. I suppose that women who disobey the hijab law will be subjected to hudud (punishment) under sharia.

Police cars are stationed outside major shopping centres in Tehran. They are stopping pedestrians and even cars - warning female drivers not to show any hair - and impounding the vehicles and arresting the women if they argue back. Middle-aged women, foreign tourists and journalists have all been harassed, not just the young and fashionably dressed.

All women, but especially younger girls, have been warned that if, from now on, they do not strictly observe the pre-existing but often loosely interpreted rules on Islamic dress code, they face arrest and punishment in the courts.

The result has been confrontations with police in some of the capital's main squares where young people gather to socialise at dusk. Some women have reportedly been pushed about, detained and then released with a warning of worse to come if they re-offend.

Under the plan, "women wearing short manteaus, tight outer garments and headscarves that do not conceal hair would be notified by police patrol officers. Those who refuse to correct their appearance will be arrested and handed over to judicial officials," the Iran Daily newspaper reported.

The police bus screeches to a halt at a Tehran square packed with traffic. The officers leap out and begin spot checks on passing pedestrians and cars.

...Apparently, the family is not notified if the girl is arrested....

A bearded man who identified himself as Mr Mohammadian, a civil servant approached reporters to complain: "They arrested my daughter last night on Jordan street. She was sitting in her friend's car." "They were stopped for a few strands of hair, her friend's car was impounded. Students should be treated with care. If they are bothered they will leave Iran, we need to keep these people at home," he told a police officer. "I am a war veteran, I paid my dues for the revolution, please, I plead with you, go and check, there was a car impounded last night on Jordan Street with two girls in it. This is not the way to treat our youth."
