I think it will be laughed at.

Rappers can't sing so instead they talk fast. They can't write music so instead they "sample". They can't play instruments so instead they jump around like idiots.

I will admit, however, that some of them would make great poets. Some of them.

No. But you may be. I'd like to see you try to freestyle and then tell me that rappers have no talent. And by the way, not all of them sample, and it's not the only music genre that does sample.

Theres plenty being said about rap music right now and believe me it isnt all laughing! Disco had its haters, but at least it was fun, uplifting, dance music, not even like rap. It kinda grew on us after a bit or some of us anyway. I lived it and some of the best times ever were in discos back in the 70's. We had a good time and wasn't about hurting anyone in words or actions. Rap and disco, not even on the same page, sorry, cant see anyone in the future laughing over it.

I don't think so because rap is much more mainstream than disco ever was. Disco was a phase while rap is everchanging and different genres of music are using rap to help draw different audience, in effect raising there potential for crossover into different sectors of music.

i don't think it will, disco only lasted a very few years and rap has been Around since the middle 80's already. the first rap song i can remember was called "jam on it " sung by a group named Nucleus

Yes, the commercilaized bull crap like Nelly, 50 Cent, etc. However I do like some Hip Hop like The Roots, Jurassic 5, and Mos Def. That stuff is real music.

I KNO they do talk fast!!! but the only "rap" song i like is white and nerdy!!! I TOTALLY agree with u!!! and i guarentee it will be laughed at or be better than wut it is today!!! and im not sure about the poets...but maybe less than 30% of them!!! if they take out all the degrating things than yeah it wud make a good poem!!!

it will be around for a long time... like rock...but it will (and is) more commonly called hip hop, and hip hop is a way of life for some. look at wikipedia and you will see what the main ingredients for a hip hop lifestyle is
