i *only* work under pressure, unfortunately enough, lol
i have found that, while i do excellent work if i do it ahead of time, my real motivation comes exactly when i feel like i've reached the point of no return.
i push it so far... it's dangerous!
but i cannot tell you how many 10,12,20 page papers I wrote the night before they were due when i was in college.
the thing is, a LOT of people work this way -- we wait until we feel like it's a case of "now or never" and then we do it.
a lot of my professors describe their own work like this too, lol, so they know what it's all about.
it's certainly not a *desirable* method, and it's a habit i'm working to break in grad school, but it's just the way i've been trained (trained myself, that is)

When I worked for others and they tried to put pressure on me.. this is what I said to them.. tell me what you want done and when you need it done..show me where it is and then get THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY and leave me alone... now if they cannot trust me to do the job without their standing over me.. then they should do it themselves.. I do realize that doing it that way is difficult for some.. especially if you need the job and are afraid of being fired.. but if you have to work under that kind of stress.. find another job.. good luck

I used to work great under pressure. But over time your body and your psyche pay a price. It's much better to work at even pace and get the job done.
I'm at the point in my life that I cannot handle stress anymore, it causes me incredible anxiety.
Try to set daily goals and work them every day. That's a better habit to have.

It definitely does not make it easier for me. I often get flustered, forget details, and do poorly in comparison to when I'm not under pressure.
