It's not a matter of choosing between them, they just exist. These numbers usually refer to a computer's chip, drive or disk capacity to store information. The larger the number the greater the capacity. Usually, with computers, more is often better.

Your question, however, sounds like you're asking which should I choose, hundreds or thousands?

As used in the metric system, kilo means 1000.
kb = kilobytes or 1000 bytes (actually 1024)
mb = megabytes
gb = gigabytes

The actual number is 1024 bytes = 1 kb, but it's easier to round it to 1000 when trying to understand it in lay terms.

Think of it like this:
1000 bytes = 1 kb ... 1000 kb = 1 mb ... 1000 mb = 1 gb

It's easier to think of a hard drive as a 150 GB capacity than to 153,600,000,000 KB.

im not quite sure abt the question but anyways kb means kilobytes and mb means megabytes. 1024 kb is 1 mb so mb is greater than kb so u choose mb ok.

Convention is as follows...
MB=MegaBytes
Mb=MegaBits
KB=KiloByte
Kb=KiloBit
1000 KB=1MB
1000Kb=1Mb
1 Byte=8 bits

Shave and a haircut=2 bits
Got it?

kb is a kilobyte (1024 bytes)
mb is a megabyte (1024 kilobytes)

Memory and all things new are in megabytes or gigagytes (yes, 1024 mb= 1 gb). for example, a typical mp3 encoded song might be 3mb in size, or 3072kb.

also, the capital 'K' usually means kiloBYTE, and the small case 'k' means kilobBIT. 8 bits make one byte.

kb is smaller than mb.
i prefer mb if you really need that much space. :)

1 mb is 100 kb
1 gb is 1000 mb (accurately 1024)
