I have an assignment to record memories of people who were teenagers during the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, or 1980's, concerning sexuality issues.

For your era:
1. What methods of contraception were available?
2. How did people perceive the act of prostitution?
3. What effect did the media have on sexuality issues.(ex. Playboy)
4. What was society's views on masturbation?
5. How difficult was it to learn about the topic of human sexuality as compared to today?

Please state if your a male or female and your nationality please! THANK YOU!

My own experience in the 80's.
Female, American
1) condoms, the pill, IUD, sterilization

2) It was for drug addicts and run-aways

3) They used female sexuality a lot, but were starting to drag men into it.

4) Most people didn't really mention masturbation.

5) You could learn about it, but you'd only get half the story. For example...we were told the mechanics of hetero sex, but no one mentioned that there was movement involved. He put his this into her that....and that's it. There was NO education about homosexual sex, and you had to get a parents permission to obtain birth control pills.

Margot Fonteyn's occupation lasted into her 1940s, due in great section perchance to her staggering partnership with Rudolf Nureyev--so that they, as a pair, were very well known contained in the Sixties. Seventies and 80s--who yet Gelsey Kirkland and Baryshnikov? for sure it relies upon on no matter if you're speaking from an American or British element of view, because stars of NYCB or ABT will continuously be extra efficient regular to an American target audience, except perchance with exceptionally nicely-regular human beings, like Margot Fonteyn and Darcey Bussel.
