He waved the flag as a tribute. Earnhardts only son even approved with the action. For God's sake Earnhardt was Gordon's mentor and idol. Gordon was only honoring the great champion. Is Gordon never allowed to win? Is no one allowed to be compared to Earnhardt? People need to quit disgracing Gordon's actions. Earnhardt NEVER would have approved these actions.

People that have chosen to respond with anger over Jeff Gordon's latest win, are making a sad choice...It's unfortunate that they feel the way they do...I agree, as a Jeff Gordon fan and a person in general..I thought what Jeff did yesterday was honorable to Dale Earnhardt's memory as a mentor and friend to Jeff..I believe also that Dale would of frowned on and responding with disappointment over the actions of the race fans yesterday..well, those are my thoughts on the matter...take care and PEACE!!

1st I don't give a rat's *** what Earnhardt would or would not have approved of. 2nd I personally am not mad at Gordon I just can't stand him. I'll tell you who i am mad at and that is Nascar. I have just about stopped watching the race because Nascar is totally ruining the sport with all their rules and regulations. (Excluding this week the debris was dangerous) they always call a caution on the last 4 or 5th lap. There can be a piece of paper on the track and they call caution for debris. I'm sorry but that little piece of paper can not hurt any damn body.

He is from California and the necks think that he is no good. Making a new record for wins on the car gods birthday.
Necks realize this Jeff Gordon may not be one of you, but when he is finished racing he will be up there with Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and all the other record setters. I am real sorry he has raised the bar on NASCAR.
