I know astronomers named them but...were they meant to be named that? Who is Jason? have any ideas?

Well, having the name Jason, I can tell you that it means something... Look at a calender... the months spell Jason. July, August, Sept. Oct. Nov. What is meant by my name I do not know. I never knew about the planet one though. Strange.

Jason was:
- an ancient hero of Greece (Jason and the Argonauts)
- a character in a series of horror pictures
- the first name of a number of actors
- a guy I used to date

No, they weren't meant to spell out Jason (they only appear that way to you, JSUN is not an anagram, its just coincidence).

it's just a coincidence.
Astronomers named the planets after Roman gods based on their characteristics.
Jupiter-- supreme god; largest planet in the solar system
Saturn-- another supreme, but less-known about god; ?
Uranus-- sky god; ?
Neptune-- god of the ocean; has a blue color resembling the ocean.
