I'm going to my 30th this year. It all depends on who's doing the planning and what they have planned. My 20th was awesome, then the 25th sucked. There were no activities. I had talked my very best friend and my boyfriend at the time to come with me to the 25th and they both had to come to Illinois, one from Florida, and one from Oregon, and they both agreed it sucked. Now the 30 year is upon us. I'm in town, but I didn't get in on the planning and I don't know what is going to happen at this one. I'm going no matter what, but I think that if I were you and having to travel so far, I'd contact someone doing the planning and get a little info on what is planned, and possibly who has rsvp'ed so far. Good luck to you and I do wish you an awesome time.

I went to my 40 yr reunion for a first time. I really enjoyed it, but I live in the same city. If I were going to spend all the time and expense you are looking at I would definitely want to pre-arrange to see some of the people you really hope to see. Otherwise you may spend a bunch of money to find there's no one really special at the reunion, and be dissapointed.

Not saying that this will happen to you but,Oh man I went to 20th class reunion and it was a drab. It seemed to me that I was the only one that ahd furthered my education and with a career. Most everyone else had like 6 children, on welfare,on drugs or was dead. They also had changed drastically and that hurt me as well. If I were you, I would not go!

I think it depends on what you're looking for. If you need reassurance that most of them failed to become what they wanted to be....you'll definitely find it.
If you are looking to continue some meaningful relationships...forget it. If they haven't contacted you in 30 years, they are not interested enough to bother (nor are you!).
If you're looking to have some fun, and find out what happened to people, and can be fair in your expectations, you'll proably enjoy yourself.
At our reunion, one of the guys showed up with a new, cute girlfriend. Soon after, her husband and father showed up, and it turned into a free-for-all. Most of us wished that we hadn't bothered, or spent the money!!

My 20th was great!
I think you should go. Its really neat to meet up with all those people from so long ago.
I've heard from everyone that the 20th and after are the best ones to go to anyway.

You should go. Try classmates.com for your school, and see if they have anything posted there for your reunion. I graduated in 71, missed my 30th, think I'll go this year.

Is there anyone you really want to see?
I still talk to the people I care about from HS. I could care less about the others. It's really not worth a drive unless you know there will be people there that you really want to see.

I would go. I love to talk about what happened "way back when" and think about how much you have to say after 30 years! I would definitely go.
:o)

I've never done this and don't think I would travel that far or be put out that much. Depends on how much you liked High School and your high school friends,I guess. If you go,take your wife! Lol!!!

The most important thing is whether or not you want to!
So it sounds, if you will be there, probably you will be boring or something, but if you will not be there, you will miss most great opportunity for meeting your old-time friends.
So just be there, and have fun.
