I recently bought Exo Terra pre killed crickets. I thought they would be dehydrated but it turns out they're really moist and are sorta big. my RES is about 1.5 inches long. are these crikets alright for his health?

Yup... a-ok.

Younger turtles tend to enjoy more of a animal protein in their diet. You can also try bloodworms, earthworms and waxworms as well if you would like. Small feeder fish too.

Mine LOVES feeder fish!

I've heard that the various sharp corners on cricket legs (for example, the little spikes on their "feet" that help them get traction) can tear the digestive tract of a turtle. I don't know if this is true or not, but I personally wouldn't risk it. There are plenty of other things you can feed your turtle (worms, guppies, etc.).

Hello, turtles have very powerful bites, am sure it's not going to be a problem for him to eat, but if he's used to live foods, might take him awhile to get used to things that aren't moving like live does, with our snakes, we wiggle the thawed rats & they go for it..Take Care :)

Size is what will count here- they may be too big for a small Red-ear Slider.

Generally, however, crickets are fine.
