yeah they don't like her because she is closer to normal then everyone in the entire town lol.... so the say she is ugly and stupid.. and fat and a lot more.
its just the way the try to make it funnier. the normal-ish one gets picked on.

I know, she's drawn exactly like the mom (Lois) who's apparently really hot, but Meg wears a hat and glasses and has Peter's hair colour. Pretty small differences. I guess it's supposed to be funny. Maybe it's a statement about nitpicking on the way a person looks.
The main reason I watch is for Brian and Stewie!

Most every family, especially animated families, has to have a scapegoat. That duty falls to Meg because she obviously doesn't belong there.

I think it is because she is the only one with a brain. If you gave anybody else on the show one they would take it out and play with it. She isn't normal on the show so it is supposed to be funny.

It's definitely for the humor. She's the only truly normal one in the family...so of course, she's going to be the one who is picked on. The irony is...the REST of the family is dysfunctional.

She's ugly, dumb, and thinks she's hot stuff. It would be different if she was pretty, smart, or at least acknowledged that she ugly and dumb; but that's not the case.
