My boyfriend and I just bought an algae eater and i really want to know what kind he is. Its nothing ive ever seen before. I tried looking online and am having a hard time. He is very small, and a blackish yellow color with medium size yellow spots. His stomach is even a yellowish color.

Please help! and if you have a website for me please add it in your response

A photo would be excellent, that would solve the guessing game for sure

hi what you may have is a Ancistrus. It is commonly known as Bushynose or Brislenose. to find more out you could go to en. wikipedia.org. and type in algae eaters.
