We have a mirror in our bathroom above the sink that may have been intended for decoration only. Long story short it has been stained by what I can only guess is toothpaste splash and windex simply is not doing the trick. Can you suggest a cleaning solution that will take care of this problem?

I use 70 % isopropyl alcohol same thing as rubbing alcohol it cleans mirrors really well. Dont use a rag that has been thru the laundry because if you use fabric softner it will leave a film that is hard to get off.

Try some car polish or wax. It has a grit to it that may clean it. Did the toothpaste eat off the mirror coating? If so, nothing will work.

Try a solution of 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. Wet a sponge, soft cloth or paper towel, wash mirror and then buff dry.

If straight rubbing alcohol won't take it off, I would say your mirror is damaged. Alcohol cleans anything off of a mirror or glass.

CLR does the trick...It takes off paint, sticky tack, childrens gooey toys that have sat for a while...yeh it is great lol. I have a link for it below in case you havent seen it. You can find it at most grocery stores, drug stores, wal-mart.
