Hi soccer mom. Constant pain in the abdomen - which mainly is a duodenal symptom. This pain occurs within one or two hours after meals and also when the stomach is empty. This pain lasts for several minutes or hours and you can get relief by eating or having any antacid medicines. I would recommend a thorough examination by your doctor. This will help detect any developing a stomache problems as early as possible.
1. Avoid smoking, alcohol, drinking caffeinated food products like coffee and coke.
2. Salt and sugar intake should be lessened, as it aggravates this problem furthermore.
3. Avoid NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like aspirin, ibuprofen and many more which does not help in the healing process of peptic ulcers.
4. You can use dried banana powder (Musa paradisiaca) to treat ulcers. Take two capsules of dried raw banana powder four times a day for eight weeks and see the improvement.
5. Calendula plant is also known to have anti-inflammatory and healing properties which have been used as an age-old medicine for peptic ulcers. If capsules are available, have two, three times a day. Or you can use 2 to 3 tsp of calendula juice.
6. Marshmallow (Althea officinalis) root extract is rich in protein and mucilage-carbohydrate which helps in production of a new tissue. It also helps in removing acid from your body.
7. Papaya Leaf is a great ingredient for digestion. It digests the dead tissue which helps in treating many skin diseases, wounds and ulcers. It has the property to protect the stomach mucosa from any kind of damage and ulcer formation.

Licorice Root.
It comes in tablets that you chew. Not very tasty but yes they do work and quite well.
They actually heal ulcers better than anything else. In fact it works best when combined w/saliva, hence the chewing of the tablets.
Us the DGL kind if you have high blood pressure. In a pinch you can also chew some black licorice strings from the penny candy aisle. I was stuck w/o my tablets one time and picked up a $0.50 bag in the local pharmacy (CVS) and it definitley helped.
BTW: 80% if ulcers are caused by a bacteria called H. Pylori and 20% by NSAID (non steroidal anti Inflamatories) like Ibuproken (Advil) If you're taking that or asprin STOP immediately. They can chew up your stomach.
BTW: Licorice is an effective treatment for both NSAID and H. Pylori types.
Best of luck. I've been through it. It's not fun.
Also if you take B6 tabs they can irritate stomach as well.

I don't know if this will help you or not. But my husband has a lot of trouble with his stomach. When it really kicks up, I fix him Tension Tamer tea and add to it a dash of ginger, a spoon of honey, and a spoon of sugar. He swears it helps. I'm not sure if the effect is real or a placebo effect- but I'll take what I can get!
Also you might look around for papaya enzyme tablets. You might be able to find them at your local health food store.
Good luck!

I believe it's Cayenne pepper, Angel Guy.
Another one is a teaspoon of Golden Seal powder in water a day for two weeks. Very bitter, but 'tworks for a cure.

Water, water and more water. I know it sounds crazy but it works. You are just dehydrated and water will cure you. Read the "dehydration" website. You must drink 6-8 glasses of pure water daily.
