I know it's tough to second guess .... or hindsight is 20/20 and .... most arguments for or against the war seem to be tied to politics ..... but . .....

Is there anyone that thinks that perhaps ... what Irag's future will bring is ... something a lot worse than Saddam Hussein ?

In this case, I'm not even sure that hindsight is 20/20; I, at least, can't say what would have happened if the US hadn't invaded.
Nevertheless it is true that invading Iraq was like opening Pandora's box. But there is a difference, it is as if Pandora's box would have opened itself pretty soon anyway, if nobody had opened it.
The conflict between the Islamists and the West was going to escalate in either case. The questions are, was it better to be proactive and start the battle where we wanted to fight it, or to let the enemy choose the battleground; and, did we choose the best one for our purposes; and are we doing a good job of it?

I believe the conflict in Iraq was worth it. Leaving the status quo in place in the Middle East was obviously not working and it may appear that things are in disarray currently, but people have to understand that this is very short term in the overall scheme of things. Let's remember that it took us almost 10 years after we won the revolutionary war to passing the Constitution and having some semblance of a cohesive and unified federal government. (and 70 years after that we still had a civil war!)

I think Iraq's future and the Middle East as whole, while scary right now, will be worth the precious blood of our heroic troops and the money we've spent.

Important note: We did not start the conflict in Iraq. Try to remember that.
