I am trying to make my network span wider and fill more dead spots (lower floor). Most devices of mine can't pick up my wireless network down there. I don't want to have ethernet cables all over the place. I just need another router for my downstairs.

The only routers with a RJ6 connection will be a router that has a built in cable modem also. This will not work for your purposes as the modem part of it will block the network connection you want to make.

The best way for you to do what you want is to purchase a wireless repeater. If you mount this high on the lower floor and as close as possible under the routers possition itshould receive the routers signal and your computers down below will receive the signal from the repeater.

The repeater will require nothing in the way of cables with the exception of the power adapter.

Here is a link to one I use at many locations.

What are you trying to do? You dont have to pay extra for hving a router. Take the ether cable that goes from the modem to your computer and plug it into the "WAN" either port on the router. Then connect your other comps with ether cables to the other ports or wirelessly.
If your trying to get free braod band forget it, unless you knowsomeone whocan set the jumpers on the pole illegally.
either way you still need a modem.

would not make experience. in case you disconnect the laptop from the router why do you anticipate it to stay appropriate? Are you desirous to apply instantaneous? ---------------------------------------... 2 more advantageous questions. Is the router a instantaneous router? Does the computer have a instantaneous adapter? we can't flow any further till you be conscious of those solutions. ---------------------------------------... ok, this may flow on for days. you want to inform what befell. What has replaced? even as did it end operating? have you ever made any adjustments to the laptop? Is the instantaneous adapter grew to grow to be on? Is the router broadcasting a demonstration? have you ever tried a residing house windows equipment restore? have you ever rebooted the router? tell each and every thing you are able to imagine of that would want to have befell.

You can not use 2 routers. You should buy a range extender, it only needs power.
