I currently have dialup. Because of my cell phone, I only am using my home phone line to get online. I pay $40 a month for the phone line and $20 a month for dialup Internet so I think I might be able to save money if I go another route. Do I need a phone line for Fiber? Also, would I need my phone line to get cable Internet?

Thanks!

Paying 20 a month for dialup is like 1990's price. You do not need a phone line for Cable Internet but will need it for DSL Internet.

If you are looking for a cheaper Internet then what you have then fiber optic is not the way to go. That option will be more like 100+ a month. And no you do not need a phone line for fiber connection.

you can order dsl that runs over your phone line its less than 40 a month and bundled with your land line its far less than cable.Call your phone company and they will hook you up.

Phone line is copper wire.

Fiber optic is glass fiber.

You figure it out.
