U.S. Presidents can appear on postage stamps as soon as they die, everybody else has to be dead two years minimum. So what of the likenesses of Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill? Cite is a link to the USPS page.

The USPS takes great care, consideration and mature responsibility when it comes to what's shown on a USPS stamp. Nothing in written US law anywhere declares what can and/or can't be shown on a USPS stamp!!

I think it's a great honor for the entire Star Wars cast to have their likeness on USPS stamps; giving each actor immortal recognition for hundreds of years ahead our current life now.

known stamps are in basic terms positive. you do no longer want fancy ones. besides the shown fact that, do take an entire "pattern" to the submit workplace (tackle, all enclosures, etc.) and characteristic it WEIGHED to work out what genuine postage you will want. you could no longer have faith it, yet an common "extra advantageous" paper (i.e, map?) could placed you into yet another classification of weight (extra postage) so get it weighed in basic terms to be on the risk-free factor so which you comprehend the genuine postage. definite, there have been some invites that come lower back to the bride/groom with "inadequate postage" stamps throughout them! Yikes!

They are characters.

Just like the Peanuts Characters, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and many other characters that have graced postage stamps.

If they were putting them on the stamps AS Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, then they would be in violation of the law. But they are on as characters, so that is legal.

My word - people are dying in Iraq! This is what is on your mind????

Constitutional?? Show me the Article of the Constitution regulating postage stamps!!

PS - The stamps in question honor fictional characters, not the actors.
