It's the Luoooo chant. It use to be reserved for CFL hall of famer Lui Passaglia. He played 25 years as kicker of the BC Lions. Since he retired in 2000, Vancouver has needed another Louu. It switch to hockey at the 2006 World Juniors when Vancouver fans started the Luuu chant for Luc Bourdon. And now it is Luongo's chant. But on great moments this playoffs, the Luongo chat changes to MVP.

well i don't know but why would canuck fans boo their number one goalie who helped the team in the playoffs and during the regular season? He is the reason why the canucks are in the playoffs and are still in the playoffs.

They are saying LOUUUU.
A similar thing happened when I first came to Houston, I love the Astros and at the time they had a guy named Jose Cruz. Every time he came up to bat I thought they were booing him. I finally asked the guy next to me why, he said they were saying Cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuz.
You have to listen real closely to hear the difference, but its there.

Yeah, they're saying 'Luuuuuuu! to cheer him on.' Lots of hometown fans do that for certain players. That one Peyton Manning commercial even brings it up jokingly: "Remember guys, they're not saying boo, they're saying Moooooovers."

THey aren't booing they are saying LUUUUUUUUU

as in LUUUUUU-ONGO

They love their goalie. Especially considering they had Cloutier before.

LMAO - are they booing or saying Boo-urns?

They chant MVP every time he makes a save too.
