Wondering how long it will take for prices to come down below sticker when the G37 comes out in late August. I'm also considering waiting for the Audi A5 (3.2L) so I can compare the two. I don't need a new car, I just want one, so I can wait...I think. Of course, it would be nice to have the G37 for a few months before we get winter weather here in the northeast. It remains to be seen which side of me will win out...the car jock that wants a new car ASAP or the practical side that says it's stupid to pay sticker. I can afford to pay sticker, I'm just not sure I want to.

The only answer to this is the same one you've heard all your life "supply & demand". If demand is low the price will come down in just a few weeks, if supply is lower then demand then prices may actually go up.

It really all depends on what the actual G37 will look like. If the general consensus likes the new styling and power, then it will definitely be a popular car when it comes out and they will not be willing to negotiate lower. However, if it doesn't live up to the previous G35 owners who most likely will upgrade eventually, then they will lower the cost down faster.

Knowing that it is a new coupe coming out, they probably won't be willing to haggle the price that much as their coupes are more popular than the seadan version.

If I were you, I would wait and not shop around for cars. I was like you and really did not need a car and just wanted one. I started shopping around, test driving, and looking at what they were willing to give me and I got drawn in....If you don't need, don't waste your money.

Plus, there are always minor issues on the first production cars. I would wait it out until the next year so they will have fixed those kinks.

If you do plan on buying, the Infinitis already have a ~8% premium cost added to the sticker so I'm sure you can haggle between 1-8%.

good luck!
