I would think the answer is 1.
Car = 4 wheels
Glove = 5 fingers
Clock = 12 hours
Sock = 1 foot
I would not be surprised if the desired answer were instead 5 (toes), though it seems less logical.
If you want to get really out there, the answer could be 17. "car, glove, clock, sock" has 4 words, 5 vowels, 12 consonants, and 17 total letters... and the other three numbers are 4,5,12, so you could argue for 17.

I think it is 1, because a car has 4 extremities (wheels), a glove has 5 (fingers), a clock has 12 (numbers around the outside), and a sock has 1 (toe end).

EDIT: ok. If the innovations are {3,5,7,17} then 5 seems the main actual looking. Your "2" threw me and that i did no longer comprehend the constrained decision set. old: a million by using fact it says "sock" singular somewhat than "socks" plural. One foot in line with sock like 4 wheels in line with motor vehicle like 5 arms in line with glove like 12 hours in line with clock ...

The question, as listed on a IQ test site, has possible answers of 3, 5, 7, and 17.
The correct answer on that site is 5, which agrees with McFate's "less-logical" answer of covering 5 toes (as opposed to one foot. The phrasing of the question does leave 17 open for McFate's words/vowels/consonants/"all the letters" answer.
