There hasn't been an Odyssey movie in approximately 20 years. Perhaps you are confusing the Trojan War (Iliad) movie "Troy" with the Odyssey. That old movie's monsters and Gods were mostly stop motion clay figures.

If you are speaking of the Movie with Arman Assanti, the movie left a lot out because the odyssey is to long to put it all in a movie. It was an excellent attempt though and very thorough. I don't think they missed to much other than what they didn't have time for.
