Cross reference the signatories to the presidents until about 1840.
G Washington and John Adams and Jefferson for sure.

John Adams & Thomas Jefferson, who more or less wrote it at age 33
Not Washington, Madison, or Monroe
Notables were Richard Henry Lee, Ben Franklin, John Hancock, Sam Adams.
Adams and Jefferson both died on July 4, 1926 exactely 50 years to the day after signing the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson's last words were "At least Adams still lives." not knowing Adams died the same day. Coincidentely, Adams son, John Quincy Adams was President at the time.
If you wrote a story like this, no one would think it feasable.

~Well, golly, if you need help that badly, here's some.
First, look at a copy of the declaration. Second, get a list of presidents. You don't need a complete list, even, because I suspect all the signers were dead by Polk's term, maybe even sooner. Next, compare the list to the signatures and make a note of duplicate names. The guys that appear on both lists will be your answer. Tough task, isn't it?
