The oil tankers or disasters are a bad thing, but what the enviromantalists have done is partly to blame for the elevated prices and the lack of supply. The enviromantalists are against any new refineries in America and they are calling for "cleaner fuel", they should alow the new refineries so we do not have such a lag in supply when we go from the winter fuel blending to the spring/summer blending.

Because those greedy anti-american pigs that run the oil companies like sticking us like pigs to make us squeal and give us our hard earned dollars. That's why.

And if you think the Bushies are responsible, look over at the other end of the table. You know Texas has Democrat governors too. Wonder why?

The oil pigs are on the loose again.

Increased demand and equipment at refineries breaking down to keep up I would suppose.

Because of environmental issues, refinery building has been a bit nil. just like power production. So they generally run at not far from capacity even in slow seasons and abosolutely at capacity when it gets busy. then things break.

I think that is because of the increase in production do to the demand during summer months. Careless acts take place when they cut safety precautions to make a profit.

Because these people know everyone will be on vacation burning up more fuel. So they create a disaster and then raise the price. Boom! 4 Billion dollar profit.

Honestly, I have not noticed this phenomenon. What I have noticed is that gasoline typically rises in price because of the annual change-over from winter to summer fuel production (meaning differing formulas for the seasons), and that change-over usually means that processing plants also encounter high maintenance costs.

Is this about that 580/880 tanker explosion? I think it's because They're trying to scare us right before we go on vacation. Keep us on our toes and spending money.

Could it have something to do with raising the prices of gas every summer?
