Well I think you can safely write that lying is never good. Honesty is the best policy because liars and the lies they tell always get caught.

Richard Nixon's I'm a not a crook , is a good example. He lied about his involvement in Watergate and had to give up the presidency.

The present Bush administration has been caught in many lies of late , the death of Pat Tillman comes to mind and the generals and President Bush and his administration got caught and the Tillman family are not happy. The government made up a lie saying he'd been killed by the enemy taliban when in reality he'd been shot by friendly fire.

Haven't you ever told a lie and been punished for it?

It's best to adopt the position that lying is wrong all the time, as it is a subjective exercise to determine when it might be appropriate.

Different cultures, countries and even people might disagree on when the 'appropriate' time is to lie, so truthfulness wins every time since the moral dilemma generated by taking a relative position makes life (and communication) quite difficult.

Lying is WRONG anytime and should never be practiced do you want people to trust you and believe in you NEVER lie or tell stories that aren't true! When you lie and people find out the truth which they always do it makes you less of a person and a person noone trust!
