I think it would be extremely sad and upsetting, but no more so than any other young lives wasted over there. I don't think the Americans will feel more to blame or take it harder - the Brits will feel guilty as well, look how they reacted over the death of Diana.

I'm an American from Pennsylvania and I wouldn't take Harry's death as a "hard blow." He made the decision to go to Iraq and he knew the situation he would face over there, although he will have troops covering his butt and he will be putting them in jeopardy as well. He shouldn't go there even with the best of intentions, feeling his fellow Brits wiil go to fight.. If he dies the biggest blow will be to the Monarchy and his family. That said, I did not vote for the idiots that are running my country and most of us did not want the war. We have two parties to vote for in my country, Democrats and Republicans. When the Democrats are in power, we have financial woes, when the Republicans are in we have war. That's the way it's always been over here..

I think if Prince Harry dies (and I certianly hope he doesn't!), it would be a wake-up call for both America and the Brits. It would finally show what a pointless war this is, and how so many lives have been needlessly taken.
I support the troops, but I don't agree with this war.

It will not affect me what so ever. Why would I blame myself? I didn't want this war and I didn't force Price Harry to join the military, this was of his own decision. Besides it is not as if the Royals have any power, they are just a famous family who are there for show really. I wouldn't blame myself for any ones death in Iraq. What has Prince Harry done to help this world anyway, other than joining the military but I mean he hasn't impacted the world?

merely because president Bush belonged to a seem after unit that did not set up it does not recommend he weaseled out of it. Are you announcing that all and dissimilar in that unit develop right into a weasel? Prince Harry for sure is time-honored with what we are doing over there and he has no issue going to strive against for what he feels is sweet. You human beings and your hatred of something to do with Iraq is not merely ridiculous besides the indisputable fact that it shows lack of comprehend-how.

The best thing for the "establishment" would be for Harry to die in Iraq, which is perhaps why they have recently confirmed that he will go. What could be a greater source of support for the war than the terrorist killing of a member of the royal family (cf. Mountbatten's assassination by the IRA)?
Having said that, as a member of a regiment scheduled to be deployed there, he has to go, but I truly hope that he survives his tour, along with the rest of the troops there.

It is a blow to everyone when a soldier dies. It should make no difference to how anyone feels whether he is royalty or not.
Now that it has been decided that he is definitely going, I fear that even if the Iraqis do not know exactly where he will be deployed they will step up their attacks on troops in the hope of killing him. I think it is a mistake to send him. It will only make the risks for his fellow soldiers all the greater.
Be prepared for huge casualties as soon as he gets there.

Harry needs to stay out of Iraq and our American troops need come home. The Sunnis and the Shiites are at war and they resent the U.S. being there now. Terrorism around the world has escalated, not decreased.

I will be very upset if this young man loses his life over this stupid war. I think his going is a big mistake. As an American, I won't feel that I am to blame. I never have supported this war and I didn't create it.

As an American, I'd feel quite badly for his family, they've suffered enough and then to lose a son/brother/grandson/nephew, it would be simply devastating. As for the war part, it's a tragedy when countries cannot get their act together, too much blood shed from too many people.
