Let's start by dis-spelling some of the myths about crossdressers. Contrary to the opinions and beliefs concerning crossdressers that a uneducated society has about them, 90% are NOT gay or bisexual. When you consider the fact that 10% of the male population DOES crossdress to some extent on a regular basis, we're talking about a LOT of men. I think 'RethinkxxEverything' said it best in his reply to this question when he stated that people fear what they do not understand. Therefore, this misunderstanding makes the males who have no idea what crossdressing is, fearful of it and sometimes view it as a threat to their own masculinity. It is becoming more evident almost daily that crossdressers are BORN the way they are and therefore have no choice in the matter any more than one may chose the color of their hair or eyes.

It has long since been established that all males have a certain amount of femininity within themselves, and all females have a certain amount of masculinity. Without going into a lot of detail, the "hormone wash theory" (the massive surge of hormones delivered to a developing fetus near the end of the first trimester of pregnancy) is the most reputable of all the theories as to what might be the root cause of someone being a crossdresser. This 'wash' is a normal occurrence and is therefore not something which is man-made or even controllable. With this in mind it's not correct or fair to make a statement to the effect that something is 'wrong' with the person any more than it is to be critical of any physical deformities which are readily visible in a newborn child.

As far as how they look, it's true that many crossdressers are 'over the top' in their fashion and makeup sense, and these are the ones who attract the negative attention. At the same time there are many more who DO have a handle on their appearance and it might surprise a lot of people if they really knew how many crossdressers they pass on the street and in the malls every day.

With all this in mind I would venture a guess that those males who dislike crossdressers so much are insecure in their own masculinity. In addition they are usually the 'macho' type who go all out to suppress any of their feminine characteristics rather than allowing themselves the freedom of expressing (in private) their OWN desires to emulate the fairer gender.

That is not true it is an agenda you are promoting, whatever the basis it might be it is a dangerous, callous and offensive joke intended to rile up males against them.

Contrary to YOUR oppinion, about 99.999% of Americans have absolutely nothing against how anyone dresses around them nor do they even care about anyone else's orientation or sexual lifestyle. Unlike you, they are do not spew hatred and lies. It is the chosen few nutcases out there that don't have anything viable in their lives to do that stir up trouble by spewing hatred and myths based on hokey belief systems and notions that themselves are not viable truths in religion, politics, science or even social norms. Like heresay, they are pathetic made up tales.

It is like Republican Mike Huckabee saying "our country is being overun by gays, lesbians and transexuals -- which comprise less than 1% of America -- FACT -- who are ruining our freedom" which will be ignored by every sane and rational person in America, because they know it is an agenda.

But, here's a thought for you. It will not work. People are smarter than you have ever thought they were. Your agenda ends where a crossdresser's nose begins. And that is a FEDERAL law.

The world is changing...change with it or you will be left behind...

Male society at large, across the globe and since the beginning of time, has had a bitter aversion towards displays of effeminacy in other males. It seems to be almost an intrinsic, inexplicable aspect of maleness, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's because males are so sexual and visual in their arousal. When a man sees another man dressed like or acting like a female, his brain registers the female aspects of the sight and the initial processes of arousal are triggered. But the rational part of the brain realizes, "oh wait that's a male, I can't mate with that", and the male becomes frustraited and angry at the thing which caused the frustration.

thats a good question. now what is the answer ? well maybe they are insecure about themselfs. or just hate. i am new to crossdressing, and know this is not just a fad, or mid-life thing, but a real and lasting part of the whole person that i am.maybe someday we can live in a world where who you are is more important than what you wear or the color of your skin.

People fear what they do not understand, and hatred is simply a form of fear. Like when you say you hate spiders, you really mean that you are afraid of them, Maybe they are afraid that the crossdresser may try to make a move on them or that they will be considered one of "them" [with respect] by association.

Because they are afraid that if they find someone attractive, and they turn out to be a cross-dresser, that makes them gay by default.

Which it does. (j/k)

They will begin wondering, anytime they see an attractive woman if s/he is more well-hung than he is.

Someone who is overly freaked out by it may be experiencing a sexual-identity dilemma.

I don't know that so many truly do - - most men (like my husband) are simply ambivilant. The others are simply spooked by something so different. Or, they wish they were that brave to be so in touch with their female side!!

I think it's because they secretly want to dress-up like girls, but are too afraid to give it a try or ask for help. So, they hate us because they really want to be girls like us.
