How hard to answer your question! You'll have to go on line for more information. The only thing I can tell you is:
"The Once and Future King" is an ever-popular book about the coming of King Arthur to rule.
"The Old Man and the Sea" is about a Caribbean gulf fisherman who succeeds in catching the dream fish of his life, and then... The thing is that you get to read Hemmingway, and then you get to discuss this most influential and most controversial of writers. (Yeah: You get to write novels that others only dream about, and then...) Teachers will be fascinated by whatever you can turn up about this book.
"The Good Earth" is about a woman coming of age in China in the mid-20th century. Same thing. You get to discuss Pearl Buck, a once world-famous, once best-seller author, whom some Chinese revile as not having gotten China right, and whom others revile as too best-sellerish. Again: Great book report potential about about why/why not read this book today.
"A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" is about a girl who grows up in Brooklyn (1940's?). Again, what is this this girl's life like in the mid-20th century (those were modern times!) compared with the life of a similar-age person today? At the time this book appeared, it was a sensational best seller.

I loved The Once and Future King. It is the longest so you would easily be able to write two, if not more, pages about it. Magic. Love. Romance. Tragedy. It has everything and then some.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is a nice coming of age story about a young girl. Sad at times.
Hiroshima is brief and I thought it was very good but painful to read.
I am not a fan of Hemingway's work so I couldn't recommend Old Man and the Sea. The Good Earth is interesting but not necessarily one I enjoyed nor remember clearly.
Never read Troy.

I've only read two of these - The Old Man and the Sea and The Once and Future King. I loved The Once and Future King. And although it's been 25 years since I read The Old Man and the Sea, I'd still rather have a root canal without anesthesia than read it again. It's awful enough that it stuck with me all these years. One of my most hated books of all time.

I am Senior in high school and a friend of mine really enjoyed the book, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I can tell you the Old Man and the Sea was really boring (for me anyway).

Calm down, collect your thoughts, and take a deep breath. Interest is an individual thing. . .Now, what do you LIKE to read? We can help a little better if we know more about your interests. What's interesting to one of us may not be so interesting to another. What books do you like? Do you like fantasy, reality, social commentary, science fiction. . . or what else?
There ya go. I'd say The Once and Future King. It's about King Arthur. Merlin is the ultimate magician (bad and good), Morgana is evil personified, and Mordrid -- well, he's just evil. If you like creepy, this one is for you. The language may be a little difficult, but it's not really hard like Shakespeare -- it's hard like most fantasy/ sci fi. I really think you'll like it.

i havent read any of them. my advice though is to look them up online and look at clif notes about them, see which one seems the most intresting and if you want a easy book check the number of pages or the reading level!
