Your ex should be paying child support even if he is in school. And you should not worry, cause all these years, since your divorce, that he has not paid child support he will have to pay it as back pay. Even if your child turns 18 and your ex is not caught up with the back pay, he still has to pay you that money. It's the law. And when he is done with school and earns more money, you be sure and go to your attorney or the attorney general child support office and ask for an increase in child support payments, if you know that he is earning more money than last month.

It depends on the laws in your state. In some states, child support automatically ends at 18. In others, it goes until 19 or 21. In almost all states, you have to ask the Court's permission to stop paying your child support, regardless of the child's age.

It depends on what your divorce papers state. You might want to drag them out and have a look. Mine states that child support ends at age 18, unless they are a full time student, then it ends at age 22.

No. I'm on the opposite end. My son is in college.... support stopped when he turned 18 .... if he was 18 in high school, it would have kept going until he graduated high school. Check your divorce decree...it will tell you in there.

Depends on what you agreed to. She needs your support to go to college. You fathered her, remember?

You should if you can still do that, but I don't thing you're legally obligated to. But if your daughter is not able to fully pay for her own college then I think it makes sense for you to assist if it's not too much of a burden on you.

your divorce decree and the laws of your state decide what you HAVE to do! -- After that, you help your daughter as you see fit! Not the mama!
