I recently bought a new GPU for my computer. It runs great, but it runs too hot. I have a Gateway GT5238E desktop. I wanted to know if there was some fan I could buy that would be very large. I use a large window fan, open my case up to do some emergency cooling work. Are there large fans available (bigger than 120 mm)? any suggestions, comments or website links?

From the looks of this pic of your computer, http://support.gateway.com/s/CASES/WME1T493-001/WME1T493-001iv.shtml I don't see much you can do. I can't tell whats behind the air duct, but there is already a rear case fan installed. Have you blown this out real good with canned air? If not I would do that. Pay close attention to the heat sinks.
Another thing to consider is this, does the GPU have it's own fan? If it does NOT, you could use one of these as a video card cooler. It does blow upward, I have one, and the speed is adjustable. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=120565&CatId=494
If the card has it's own fan , don't use this.

I have not seen any fans larger than 120mm, but you could put multiple fans in your case. I dont know whether or not you have the space but you could either get a new case(newegg.com has very affordable ones), or you could just stick with your window fan. The window fan may look bad but I'm sure it gets the job done.

Most big fans come as part of new PC cases:

If you current 120mm fan is the silent variety, it could just be a 42cfm fan. There are 80 -100+cfm models but expect a corresponding increase in noise.

Consider this for additional cooling of your GPU:

they do make 140 MM fans.

but if you want an easy cooling system that would work with anything, i'd go with a Liquid Cooling System, they work like a charm and are virtually silent
