Why do people ask questions when they can use the internet to look up the answer a lot faster?

there are a lot of what i consider "real" questions here. sometimes, even with the internet, you can't find your answer.
i came here to Answers with a question about a movie i could not identify. six people answered with the name of a certain movie--their answer was wrong. one of those people even told me that because the six of them thought their answer was correct, i had to be wrong, even though i told them i knew their answer was incorrect.
then came person number seven who disagreed with the other six and gave me the correct film name. because that person was able to answer me, i stayed and now try to do the same for others.
those are the questions that i try to look for here most of the time, when someone genuinely can't figure out the name of a movie, not those when i figure someone already has the answer and is just testing others here.
but even those questions allow people to communicate with one another. and i think that is all some people are here to do, just sort of have "talks" over the net. nothing wrong with that approach either but it's not why i'm here.

It gives a variety of different answers for a person to ponder; different opinions. Sometimes people know exactly what they are going to get told and need the attention from other people (this does NOT reference your question) and simply like airing their 'dirty laundry' in public. Who knows for each person, I personally like to answer unless it was something of a time issue :)

As far as quetions with real answers, I don't know. I like to ask questions on here to get different opinions from people that have different points of view than me.

the most popular question seems to be 'am I pregnant' and I dont think google can help with that
