I have the worlds cheapest doggy door .. there is a sliding door that goes out to back deck/patio.. and there is a sliding screen door there as well.. the doggies made their own doggy door by ripping out the bottom corner of the screen.
They just walk in and out and the screen flops back into place when they are through. When the regular sliding glass door is closed, they have no doggy door.

I used to - but I had a problem with unwed ostriches raiding the bloody pantry at all hours so I welded an old Boy George record over the opening to keep everything out. Haven't seen me dog since then either...oddly enough.

I do....I bought a "storm door" at Lowe's that has one built into it. Nice well-built door. I, too, have a big dog...a Doberman, so if someone wants to be so stupid as to climb the fence into my backyard and attempt to get in thru the pet door....

I have a cat door that lets her go out to the screened patio. She loves the freedom.

no. I have a rott mix and a pitt--a dog door for them would take 1/2 the door.

Yup, but it can only open when the pooches have their special collars on. If anyone tries to crawl in it, it won't open.
