s/5*40 = 16
s=16 (bring the 40 over the = sign so it is s/5 =16/40)

cross multiply to get:
s40=80
divide both sides by 40 to get:
s=80/40
s=2

s/5(40) = 16
s(8) = 16
s = 2

16 divided by 40 then times by 5 to get S = 2
