If you want to check out something old school and different, check into Hüsker Dü, Butthole Surfers, Sonic Youth (the early stuff), Negativland, Residents, early Replacements, early Soul Asylum, and Wire.

But for something a bit more contemporary, you can check 50 Foot Wave, Morningwood, Sleater-Kinney. hmm . . . I just noticed all three of these bands have women vocalists, and I can't think of any current ones with males . . . ohh, wait, Radiohead and System Of A Down.

Well around that genre check out Bullet for my Valentine. But i'm not a big fan of the new age of rock i feel like theres not as much talent as there used to be. But BFMV is pretty decent.
