frequency question....?

Two tuning forks are held near each other and a beat frequency of 6 Hz is perceived. if one tuning fork has a frequncy of 512 Hz, what frequencies are possible for the other?

do i just add or subtract the 6 Hz since it's the beat? or what?...

Yes. Add 6 for the first freq. and subtract 6 for the second freq.
