I have all of the facts right here Neddie within this link, Bush will always have the record. I lived in Texas while Ann Richards was Governor and Texas was a great State then that absorbed the Destruction from the Ronald Reagan Administration to the Northern States with the dismantling of the Workers Unions. The Texans resented then that Northerners had more education and a better work ethic, and felt like they were being undermined by Northern Liberals, when they themselves were just plain lazy. This was the start of the anomosity and rise of the Southern Evangelist Neocon party that underminds America today. I have sources to the executions here: http://www.commondreams.org/views/102500-101.htm

As a political independent I have to play devils advocate on this one. I always here Democrats say that more people were executed in Texas under Bush than any other Govenor. But if you look at history he only broke the record of his predecesor Anne Richards (D). There is almost no way of telling if someone was wrongly executed. No prosecutor would reopen a case that was tried and a person was both convicted and executed.
I always here Democrats argue that the death penalty is a cruel and unusal punishment. They cite the number of people that have been found inocent and released from death row. They point out the number of botched executions that you would expect from a third world country.
The Republicans do the opposite and argue that they deter crime and then counter with the number of executions with the number of abortions.
As a true independent I am against both. I can argue that both are horrible acts that are done with the best of intentions. A goverment that wants to protect its citizens from the worst of the worst will inact laws and deliver punishments that will deter crime. But the problem is when they rush to close a case and an innocent person is incarerated. The same with abortions, it is usually a young woman that is not ready for motherhood. She sees abortion as a means of not causing a life of hardship for both herself and the child.
I wish we could ween ourselves off both of these practices.

Do you have no mercy for Texas??? I ought to slap this monitor and pretend it's your face! (Just kidding!) But please....that really is NOT funny at all. I should have slapped him up the side of the head when I had the chance when he was governor(I was walking right behind him and had a verbal confrontation with his body guard)...he pi$$ed me off then.

Odds are none. Even if someone is executed for a particular crime that they are innocent of, odds are that they were guilty of similiar crime. So in effect they were still executed for murder, just not the one they committed.
Even innocent people in jail are rarely completely innocent. They may not have done what they were accused of, but they did something equally bad or worse.
Many serial killers that have just stopped, have actually been found to be locked up for a petty crime.

None lib. Innocent men don't get executed. Convicted felons get executed. I'm sure that libs believe everyone is innocent because under the lib philosophy, no one has personal responsibility for their own actions.

I would imagine more than just a handful.
I also remember our "compassionate" conservative Bush mocking Karla Faye Tucker (who had become a fellow Christian in prison) after she was executed.
