Well, that's a little stereotypical. But I can help, the people that everyone consider emo are usually wearing stuff that doesn't show much of a personality, Like no bright colors, just fashion in black and white. So usually skinny jeans are in the matter, along with some kind of striped jacket or shirt, grays, whites, blacks or sometimes blues(remember layers). And also vans and converse are popular with what we call 'emos' or emotional people. Checkered vans are all over. And layered hair is in too. and just some makeup. You can do the trick.

if your dressing emo without actually doing the rest of the emo thing (the music and that) then you are just scene, and thats not cool, thats just following the herd and jumping on the bandwagon. get off and do your own thing.
