Hi. I am trying to find out how much a mechanic would charge me to fix a dent on the front hood of a 93 inifinit g20? The dent is minor, but enough to cause a slight "pocket" or raise on the right side of the hood when closed.

If I need to get a whole new hood, how much would I be charged by the mechanic for part and labor to have it installed?

Also what needs repair if a car tends to overheat? And how much would that cost me if taken to a mechanic?

And oil leak repair is how much to have fixed by a mechanic?

If you have some ideas of how much this kind of repairs run (including parts and labor) please let me know. I'm trying to make a decision.

Thanks in advance.

Your questions are, well, a bit vague

Dent on hood... I'd say 500 to 1000, hopefully less. But that's body shop question, as the other guy said.

Tends to overheat... way too vague. Replace the usual culprit like thermostat first, then check flow for water pump or obstruction... needs time to diagnose, and figure out if anything else is damaged.

Oil-leak... same thing, need to find out where EXACTLY is leaking. Usually some sort of seal, then it depends on how easy it is to get to, as it's mostly labor.

Pay the diagnostic fee (Usually 1 hour labor, about $100) and let them figure it out for you.

Mechanics don't do body work, body shops do body work, and most of them would be happy to give you an estimate.

As to the overheating, it would depend on why it was overheating to even guess as to cost. Again, the mechanic would be glad to look and give you an estimate of costs.
