The Watergate scandal in the 1970s was when "The Plumbers," who worked for Nixon, had gone to spy on the Democrat's headquarter at the Watergate hotel. When the media found out about this, Nixon had denied that he was involved. There were tapes that recorded Nixon giving orders to go on and spy on the Democrats. When the Supreme Court came into play, Nixon had to give up the tapes. He resigned as president in 1974.

President Nixon had nothing to do with initial illegal activity. The cover up eventually made it's way to the White House staff and the President may, at some point, have tried to stop investigations into the incident. It wasn't the first time this had happened and it surely wasn't the last in other administrations. President Nixon was a good President and if he was guilty of anything, it was just that he was trying to help the higher echelons of his staff. In the end it was John Dean, White House counselor, that "brought the White House down." What happened to counselor-client privilege?

~Here you go, you poor helpless and lazy thing. I usually don't do homework for the hopeless, but on something so important and vital as this, I'll make an exception. I'll be thorough, simple, concise and even accurate and honest.
Here we go:
They had too much money in the war chest. They had no end of dirty tricks to spend the money on. They had no scruples. They didn't believe laws about breaking into people's homes and offices or bugging them should mean anything to them. They planned it. They financed it. They did it. They weren't too careful or adept. The little fish got caught in the act. One or two ratted out some others. Woodard and Bernstein chased down the story. Deep Throat had a big mouth (and thank him for that). Woodstein followed the money. The big boys got implicated. Dickie lied and the little big boys tried to fall on their swords for him. Tenacious reporters and congressman wouldn't let go. Bigger fish rolled on even bigger ones. Archie wanted the tapes. Dickie became the Cox-sacker and did the Saturday Night Massacre. Rosie did the erase oopsie (yeah, right). The tapes were turned over. Dickie was had. John Dean nailed the coffin shut. Dickie got Gerry to be his veep. Dickie was gonna go down and he knew it. Dickie quit. Gerry moved up. Gerry pardoned Dickie.

In June of 1972 ,burglars in the pay of Nixon's campaign committee broke into offices of the Democratic Party . in the complex chain of events, high officials on Nixon's staff who had been connected to the burglary used illegal means to keep the burglary from being fully investigated; These actions by Nixon staff were known as the "cover up" Nixon arranged for secret tape recording of many conversations in his office regarding the cover up, and then refused to hand the tapes over to the investigators from the congress . after months of legal maneuvers , Nixon finally released the tapes , which showed that he had known about criminal activity by his staff. by this time, the House of Representatives was one step away from impeachment of Nixon .Leaders of congress told him that if he were impeached and tried ,he would very likely be removed from office. He resigned the Presidency in Aug.1974 complaining of a lack of support from congress. several of his assistance were convicted of various crimes connected with Watergate . Nixon himself was never indicted, and was pardoned by his successor,President Gerald Ford.

i don't be attentive to what the call-calling is for, yet he grew to grow to be into no longer impeached, he resigned. A vote in no way happened for impeachment. in assessment to Clinton who refused to resign and grew to grow to be into impeached yet no longer convicted, regrettably. fortunate for him that the Democrats controlled the Senate. Babs - I honestly might desire to question your answer. The OP revealed "Why grew to grow to be into Republican-Neoconservative president Richard Nixon impeached?" So if it in no way happened there is not any "why" to respond to. Why grew to grow to be into he impeached? He wasn't impeached so there is not any answer to furnish. perchance if he asked why did Nixon resign then he might get an answer. considering the question has an answer to it.
