1. Don't try that e las poor yoric quote. a. It's from Shakespeare not Poe. b. It's misspelled. The time to use that quote is nevermore.
2. An opening sentence should do two things. First, it should get the reader's interest. Second it should reveal the general idea and direction of your paper. What are you trying to prove? That Poe was not crazy? then how about Why do they call Poe mad? It echoes his own opening of The Tell Tale Heart.

I'd start with either a quote from one of his poems ... perhaps something like, "Take thy beak from out my heart..." (from "The Raven"
or
I'd start by talking about all of the deaths in his family, of those people he loved. His mother died of TB, his aunt died, his wife (first cousin) died of TB ... How much slow tragedy can one man endure? When will the suffering of this life end? Death after death after death ... and then, the soul must create, must write; the soul of the writer can only manifest that which is, in his own life. For Edgar Allan Poe, that which existed in his own life was the slow withering death from tuberculosis, of those he cared most about ...

oftentimes a study paper isnt a biography of someone. oftentimes a study paper proves some sort of thought with regard to the guy and their artwork. basically writing approximately his existence is somewhat basically parroting returned the help of a internet site. Is that what your instructor asked for? A biography? noticeably unsusual. Pax - C

The world is strange know, but in the day of Edgar Allen Poe it was all in his head. People thought he was disturbed, and know is one of the most well known authors for his Craziness. In stories such as..... sentence structure and grammar needs work but it is an idea.

I would start with his birth date and where he was born. Try to find out how his life was while growing up. Go into a bit of detail about his life and eventually how he got into the field of writing. You can list his accomplishments as you progress through the paper and finally end up with his death, and of course the date of death.
Good Luck!
