What were the important events that occurred immediately after the assassination? I don't mean being rushed to the hospital and dying, I mean countries declaring war and starting the Great War. Thank you very much =)

After the Archduke was assassinated., there was a brief respite and possible negotiations for a truce but it broke down.
Serbia was allied with Russia who was allied through the wife of Czar Nicholas II who was a relative of Queen Victoria. England was allied with France and France and England was allied with the US.(US did not get in until 1917) and Italy who at the beginning favored the Central Powers came in on the side of the Allies. There was also Japan who desired some of the Pacific colonies of the Germans.
Germany was allied with Austria-Hungary , Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire who feared British invasion on their Mediterranean empire. The war started on August 3 ,1914.

Austria-Hungary attacked Serbia. Russia was allied to Serbia, so attacked Austria. Germany was allied to Austria, so attacked Russia. France was allied to Russia, so went to war with Germany. this pulled in their ally, Britain, as well.
