it's a bit of a rude awakening to feel the cool air, and to have someone touch you when you've never been touched before. and not just a touch, but being pulled, prodded, poked. no matter how much you're loved, it's still a shock.

I have the idea birth is kind of painful for the baby..

cuz the baby is "shocked" to the new world of oxygen and air and the feel of things.
