What kind of cage do you have? If it's a wire-mesh cage and the bunny mess can just fall through the bottom, you could probably get away without, just put newspapers under the cage if it's an indoor bunny. If it's an aquarium-like cage (not my favorite for rabbits since the bottom is slippery) then yeah, you'll probably need bedding. Just make sure it's not toxic since rabbits chew.

In general I would like to say before one buys a pet they should look into what care is involved.
However to reply to your question. Yes, bedding is a good thing and you will want some, though it does not need to fill the entire cage.
Try flipping through rabbit.org

if it has a screen on the bottom then u should put a piece of wood on it so they can sit on the wood. if not u should keep some newspaper or sawdust down. and i think aspen would be fine.

put down bedding in it's cage, try the same bedding you would use for a hamster, they need it to make a small bed and put a couple blocks of wood to too rabbits love to chew wood and it you don't keep wood blocks in it's cage to can lead to serioud health problems
